Regaining Focus and Keeping It!

This morning I listened to a sermon given by Pastor Steven's of Elevation Church. The title was Fix Your Focus. This got me thinking, What am I focusing on and how is this holding me back from creating the life that I truly want?

wholeheartedly believe that whatever you fix your focus on is what you ultimately manifest into your life. For example if you think you can not achieve something you wont, if you think your not good enough you wont be. There's a lot of power in the way we think on things.

I also understand we can not always control our circumstances or situations. BUT, we can control what we focus on! This I know is not always as easy as it sounds especially if you are like me and its in your nature to worry or over think things.

That is why I have been striving lately to really fix my focus on living a more simpler life and learning to worry less. The bible tells us in Mathew 6:31-33
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

I want to share with you three simple things I am doing to ultimately regain my focus and keep it....

1. Start the day with God: The Bible clearly states that we are to seek first HIS kingdom and everything else with fall into place. I don't know about you but I can really tell a difference when I do not spend time with God before starting my day. Before my feet even hit the floor or I sit up I speak to God, asking him to be with me during my day and give him praise! Just simply asking God to help me stay focused helps in such a huge way.
2. Limiting distractions: The first step in this is figuring out is knowing what exactly are you getting distracted with? Easy way to do this is to ask yourself while in the mist of a task, is this helpful to me, how is this getting me closer to what I need to accomplish for the day, will this in anyway help me to reach my goals? It's all about being a good steward of your time.
3. Feeding the mind with positivity: There is no easy way to loose your focus then being negative. Whether it be you thinking negatively or surrounding yourself with negative people. This goes back to the idea that whatever you are thinking on ultimately manifest in your life. There are a couple of things I do to feed my mind with positivity everyday: Listen to positive people, read uplifting things and affirmations.

Until next post,
Jess
